This body of work is a reinterpretation of classic horror—filtered through my own visual language while drawing from the stylistic influence of the genre’s most iconic directors. Their use of light, shadow, and emotional tension serves as a foundation, but each image is reimagined through a contemporary, personal lens.
Rather than replicating familiar scenes, I deconstruct them—studying how atmosphere is built through contrast, negative space, and controlled illumination. The result is a series of images that echo the psychological weight of original films while introducing a distinct, modern perspective.
Each composition is meticulously constructed. Scenes are built from the ground up using designed light stages and controlled environments, allowing for precise manipulation of depth, shadow, and intensity. Through advanced lighting techniques—including multi-sequenced exposures, stage lighting, and theatrical setups—I shape each frame with intention, layering light to guide the viewer’s eye and heighten emotional impact.
The process is as critical as the final image. Every shadow is placed, every highlight restrained, creating a tension between what is revealed and what remains obscured. These images exist not as direct homage, but as transformation—where cinematic influence and technical craft converge to produce something both familiar and unsettlingly new.
